View back down the ridge trail to the South, hiking up from the lodge to the summit. Lake of the Clouds is to the left of the lodge, and Crawford Notch is the peak immediately on the other side of the lodge. The Ammonoosuc trail heads down from the lodge to the West (down the slope to the right).
